Fundraising Committees
It takes many PTO volunteers to organize and run our ongoing fundraising efforts. In addition to direct donations these fundraisers are an extremely important financial support to Gates. In order to continue to provide funding for all of our Programs and Services in addition to funding Classroom Assistants, Library Staff and Computer Lab Assistants, the PTO needs to raise over $55,000 every year.
PTO Funds raised are Used to Support;
- Gates Staffing of Assistants - Currently 80% of Budget
- Arts & Musical Enrichment
- Literacy Programs
- Science & Nature Programs
- School Events & Activities
- Staff and Faculty Appreciation
American Girl Night
Gates night out at the American Girl store! Includes activities, refreshments, and raffles.
Apparel
Different items of Gates apparel are available during the school year; from t-shirts and sweatshirts to shorts and pants. This committee is responsible for processing orders, maintaining inventory, and selling apparel at various events throughout the school year.
Auction
The Annual Gates Auction is our biggest fundraising and social event of the year. More information can be found in the Auction section of the website.
CHAIR NEEDED
Book Fair
The annual Book Fair is held in October. It allows children and parents an opportunity for in house book shopping. Proceeds benefit our school and classroom libraries.
Box Tops for Education
The quickest way for every Gates family to make an easy donation to the Gates PTO. Every Gates family, neighbor, and friend can participate in this fundraiser. Just collect the Box Tops for Education coupons from General Mills products and return them to the school in the box in the lobby.
Family Photo Day
This event is scheduled for September/October. Planning for the event occurs at the end of the previous school year. Families can sign up for a photography sitting and also receive one free photograph. Additional photos are available for purchase.
Scrip Cards Fundraiser
Order retail gift cards such as Home Depot, Roche Bros., and Old Navy through our Scrip program and the PTO receives a percentage from the sale of each card.
Square 1 Art Fundraiser
Your child’s original artwork is professionally transformed into a number of keepsake items including note cards, magnets, bags, framed art, etc. These unique creations make meaningful gifts and give students a direct hand in helping to support the Gates School community.
Used Book Sale
The Used Book Sale is held during the Spring/Ice Cream Social. Gently used children's and adults books are collected and are sold that evening.
Wrapping Paper Sale
Held in the fall, this fundraiser offers an opportunity to purchase a variety of gift items, keepsakes, and wrapping paper at a great price!
